Mask Or No Mask?

We chat about what protects you while lashing and the truth about lash masks!

Do They Work?

Is Your Mask Really Protecting You?

We are exposed to vapours released from adhesives while we lash. Some of you may not be aware that adhesive is a toxic product that can cause some health issues over time.

Some say they feel a runny nose while working and others may experince a cough or other respiratory issues with long term lashing.

Wearing a mask is one of the many ways we can prevent these problems. Obviously a well ventilated area and vapor extractor would be ideal.

As your adhesive cures, a gas is released or 'fumes' which means you will need added protection if you plan on making lash extensions your main point of business.

So which masks are the best to use while lashing?

The common disposable dust mask provides only some protection but of course is better than nothing at all.

If you plan on lashing all day we believe in protecting yourself against the vapors to further protect your health.

OUR RECOMENDATION

We recommend the 3M mask N95 for extra protection against the VOC gases released from adhesives. You can find these online and are great to use as they protect and are easy to wear.

Remember to keep your adhesive away from your nose preferably by using the adhesive disks, jade stone or other means.

A well ventilated area is needed and making sure you dispose of your adhesive properly.  Remove the used adhesive from the room as this will help keep your area free from exposure. Use a nano mister at the end of your lash treatment to help cure adhesive faster and remove fumes.
