The Beginning

We have a guide and some advice for you to help you get started in your business.

HARD WORK  DEDICATION

After Class

When you have finished your in class training you will have assessments to complete. This is so your trainer can view your skill level and help you further so that you are ready for the real world.

You will need to practise on models and your mannequin as much as possible to become fast and efficient. We suggest charging a booking fee to guarantee your clients show up for the bookings. This can be made with a paypal link or direct banking details.

Equipment & Setup

You will need the right set up for lashing safely and hygeinically.

Here are some things you may need:

  • A dedicated room or space to work in (if working from home) This area needs to be free from animals, children, dust and debris.
  • Massage bed – we suggest ebay and choose a bed not to slim so you have room for your client and tools
  • Light– most essencial! Dont stress your eyes. Glamcor is the best, Daylight duo arm is cheaper, try Facebook marketplace for second hand items.
  • Uniform – A smart outfit with professional feel. People will take you more seriously. Try blackpants or ebay. A t-shirt with logo is also great.
  • Disposable items – Woolworths is cheap for cotton pads, buds, tissues.
  • Kidney dish, headbands, cleansers and products..right here we got you!
  • Bed linen – Kmart! of course! make it look the part – your way!
  • Bed roll or plastic bed covering for cleaning with each person. Bunnings have plastic and bed roll is found in the salon wholesalers.

Health & Safety

Remember we are working with the eye and face area and we need to take care of the client and ourselves. Here is information on how to run your business safely;

  • Insurance– Most important you will need public liability and indemnity insurance. You will need to be covered for NOT doing a patch test so please ask this question. As if you do not patch test each person you are going against manufacturer’s guidelines. Try Bizcover and mention our business for a discount- we use llyods cover
  • Disinfectants – Use saloncides for metal tools, and alcohol for cleaning between each client. Try your local beauty supplier – we like microdefence.
  • Mask – protect yourself against long periods of fumes when lashing.
  • Check your client forms for any issues and ask for updated information if needed every month.
  • Check council guidelines
